Kerry Dickson
Hairdressing has been my passion from a very young age. My mum opened the salon with her then business partner (Moira Watson) when I was 13 years old and from then I knew I wanted to follow in my mum’s footsteps.
I trained at Central College of Commerce in Glasgow at the age of 17, I returned home to join my mum and staff in the business. I’ve now been in the salon for 39 years working alongside my mum. I’m now proud to say that my daughter, Louise, is fully qualified and works alongside me.
I love all aspects of the industry, but my strength/passion is cutting. I have attended many courses over the years, one of which I was proud to gain the level of distinction in advance cutting techniques in a 3-day course. As with all courses we attend as a salon, I love the bond you make with fellow stylists in the industry.
Continual training is at the forefront of our salon education. We strive to keep up-to-date with current trends through training with our L’Oréal Professional Education Team and our GHD Premier Partner Education Team.
Our hard work paid off when we reached the Scottish Regional Finals of the prestigious L’Oréal Colour Trophy three times in a row.
In early 2020 we entered the Scottish Wedding Awards and we were named Scottish Regional Winners. I’m very proud of our team and we hope to go from strength to strength in the future.

I have an abundant passion for hairdressing. I began working within the industry at the age of 14 and have now gained over 14 years of experience.
I possess a wealth of hairdressing knowledge and skills - styling, precision cutting, creative cutting, hair extensions and technical colour application. I am also a bridal specialist.
These techniques have proven invaluable with my clients and were instrumental in my competition success in both the L´Oréal Colour Trophy and British Hairdressing Awards.
I have worked on London Fashion Week, Buckingham Palace’s Coronation Festival for Her Majesty The Queen, as well as Elle, OK! and Perfect Wedding Magazine. I have also worked as a session stylist for L´Oréal Professionnel.
I am delighted to be joining Kerry and the team at Numero Dix Hair Salon.
Emily will be on maternity leave from 20th May.

I am a 3rd generation hairdresser, working alongside my mum and nana - and we love it!
I have now been hairdressing for over five years. I qualified in Level 2 Hairdressing in 2015, then spent the following three years developing my skills, growing my clientele and building my confidence, before returning to study Advanced Hairdressing, qualifying in 2020.
Throughout my time in the salon, we have undertaken continuous training, whether it be in colouring, cutting, client care and even social media skills. In an ever-changing industry, we are always learning new skills and techniques.
In the salon, we are always encouraging clients to support local businesses and shop local. We have worked alongside many different businesses through photoshoots, wedding fayres and Christmas markets which are fantastic to be a part of.
I look forward to my continued training and working alongside the fab team.

REJOING THE SALON IN LATE-MAY
I have been working as a hairdresser since I left school at the age of 16. For my level 2 hairdressing training, all my hands-on experience was in salon, which was incredibly beneficial for me. It allowed me to experience real-life situations, understand how a salon functions, and get familiar with the expectations of ‘assistants’.
After finishing my level 2 qualification, I returned to college to complete level 3. I was then fortunate enough to secure a position at the well-established Numero Dix Hair Salon. I enjoyed working there, alongside Kerry and her team, for over 8 years and proud to have been a part of the L’Oréal Colour Trophy Regional Finalist Team.
I took a short break in my career to raise my young family, and I am now eager to rejoin the team and reconnect with clients. The salon places a high emphasis on training, and I am excited to continue learning about new cutting techniques and colour trends.
